When is the best time for a 3D, 4D, or 5D ultrasound?

While beautiful images can be captured throughout pregnancy, we generally recommend:

• 6–14 weeks: First Wave package for your baby’s first appearance.
• 15–19 weeks: Great time for gender determination and watching your baby’s movements.
• 20–25 weeks: Facial features begin becoming more defined.
• 26–32 weeks: The ideal window for detailed facial images, smiles, yawns, thumb-sucking, and adorable expressions.
• 33+ weeks: Beautiful images are still possible, although your baby’s position and available space may affect image quality.

Can I bring family and friends?

Is gender determination guaranteed?

Gender determination is available beginning at 15 weeks. While our experienced sonographers have excellent accuracy, your baby’s position or movement may occasionally make it difficult to determine gender during your visit.

Are 3D, 4D, and 5D ultrasounds safe?

Yes. Our elective ultrasounds use the same ultrasound technology that has been safely used in obstetrics for decades. Our registered sonographers follow the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle to provide a safe and enjoyable bonding experience.

What if my baby isn’t cooperating?

Babies have their own schedules! If your baby’s position prevents us from capturing the best possible images, we’ll do everything we can during your appointment to encourage movement. If needed, we’ll explain your options based on your package so you have the opportunity to return for another attempt.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

For the best possible images:

• Stay well hydrated during the week leading up to your appointment.
• Eat a light meal or snack about 30–45 minutes before your visit.
• Wear comfortable two-piece clothing to allow easy access to your abdomen.
• Arrive a few minutes early so you can relax and enjoy your experience.
